Federal Way anchors the southern edge of our service area, an easy run down SR-99 or I-5 from our Burien school. We serve the whole city — from the Commons retail core to Twin Lakes, Steel Lake, and the neighborhoods along Dash Point Road.
How We Train in Federal Way
Training here follows Federal Way's naturally tiered road network: quiet Twin Lakes residentials for fundamentals, the S 320th Street retail corridor for dense multi-lane traffic and complex signal phases, Pacific Highway S for sustained arterial flow, and the S 320th/S 348th I-5 interchanges for freeway entries. Dash Point Road adds curving, tree-lined two-lane practice that rounds out a complete skill set before test day.

Instructor's note: The Commons' parking network is our Federal Way venue for first-lesson maneuvering — low speed, real markings, zero pressure on early mornings.

Federal Way Questions
Do you really come out to Federal Way for lessons?
Yes — Federal Way is a core service city for us. Pick-up and drop-off are available across Twin Lakes, Steel Lake, the Commons area, and along Dash Point Road for most lesson packages.
Where do Federal Way students take their DOL tests?
Both the knowledge test ($35) and skills test ($70) are administered at our Burien location, about 15 minutes north on I-5 or SR-99 — typically with faster scheduling than DOL offices.
Do you offer defensive driving for experienced Federal Way drivers?
Yes — our 8-hour weekend Defensive Driving intensive (from $249) covers hazard recognition, emergency maneuvers, and wet-weather control, taught by instructors with law-enforcement pursuit and traffic-control backgrounds.
